A Cotswold Wedding: Our Wedding at Barnsley House featured in The Wedding Storybook

Our Cotswold wedding at Barnsley House was a fairytale come true.

Nestled amidst the picturesque Cotswolds, the venue offered the perfect blend of rustic charm and elegant sophistication. The private gardens provided a serene backdrop for our ceremony, and the fact that it was dog-friendly made it even more special for us and our furry companions.

This gracious, 17th-century manor house is tucked into the heart of the handsome village of Barnsley village, which lies in lovely, rolling landscape. Barnsley House is a genuinely unspoilt, elegant building filled with large bedrooms overlooking the original arts and crafts style gardens, created by renowned garden designer, Rosemary Verey. There are four acres of formal gardens, including a laburnum avenue and a potager. Beyond are outlying meadows that back onto a dairy farm.

Stepping into this special house is cosy, homely and filled with lots of nooks and crannies – the kind of rooms you can hunker down and lose an afternoon in.

There are many hidden gems around every corner of the property – from The Village Pub across the road to the small, but perfectly formed, spa tucked away in the gardens with treatment rooms, a sauna and a sunny outdoor terrace. It was the perfect venue for our Cotswold wedding.

The inspiration for creating The Wedding Storybook came from my own wedding journey. With months of meticulous planning and countless DIY projects, I poured my heart and soul into making our day truly unique. I wanted to capture the essence of our love story, the behind-the-scenes moments, and the heartfelt emotions that made our wedding so special.

The storybook became a labour of love, a way to preserve the memories that would otherwise fade with time. It was a journey of rediscovering the magic of our Cotswold wedding day, reliving every detail and sharing our story with those who were unable to attend.

The response from family and friends was overwhelming. They loved the personal touch of the storybook, the way it captured the essence of our day, and the beautiful photographs that brought our memories to life. It became a cherished keepsake, a reminder of the love and joy that filled our celebration.

Creating The Wedding Storybook was a rewarding experience, and I'm passionate about helping other couples preserve their own love stories. If you're looking for a unique and personalised way to commemorate your wedding day, I invite you to explore the possibilities of a bespoke wedding storybook. Please get in touch to start the process.
